Meet Peggy

M.Ed., CLTMC, PACG, CPRW

Peggy Killian received her Masters in Education from the University of Illinois, and her Bachelors in Psychology from Elmhurst College. She has been trained in the core competencies of coaching, as identified by the International Coach Federation, in Life Coaching through the Coaches Training Institute, Certification in ADHD/ADD through the ADD Coach Academy and Certification in Leadership and Talent Management Coaching through the Leadership Coach Academy.

Peggy has served as the Director of Career Education in the Center for Professional Excellence at Elmhurst College from 1997 to 2018; working with undergraduate, graduate and alumni seeking successful and satisfying careers. As a certified coach, Peggy helps clients with AD/HD learn techniques for maintaining focus, staying on task, and improving time management and organizational skills. Her clients learn to identify needs, set goals and build strategies necessary to compensate for their difficulties. They learn to identify strengths due to ADHD. She can be a consultant with the client’s other professionals (therapists, psychiatrists, etc) to ensure that the coaching is working effectively, as she is part of the team.

As a career and life coach, Peggy helps clients identify goals that will take them to the next level in life or career. Guiding clients in making powerful life choices and selecting the experiences they want is key to the coaching partnership. The coaching is on the client’s agenda only, the relationship is custom tailored. Peggy’s coaching will create momentum to move forward in life, she provides accountability as a motivating force.  As a certified leadership and talent management coach she supports the personal development process designed to enhance a leader’s success in achieving objectives for organizational success,e.g., performance, low turnover, employee satisfaction, use of competencies in employee selection, building a strong team, etc.. This ensures that work strategies are aligned with the client’s and organization’s values and result in Return on Investment (ROI) for employers.

Peggy is certified to administer and interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory and has 15 years experience with these instruments. She has administered the DiSC Behavorial Styles Inventory, Time Mastery Profile, Discovering Diversity Profile, and the Dimensions of Leadership Profile incorporating them into countless facilitations over the years. Customizing programs requested by specific groups is Peggy’s forte’. She is passionate about finding the personal inner struggle and workings of the organization to create a solution moving the group to the next level.
